My
working Model Boat
The Arctic Corsair
H320. Deep Sea
Fishing Trawler. (Sidewinder) My first Scratch built working model. The reason
why I built Arctic Corsair now a Museum Ship in our local community and one of the last of its kind to sail out of the
port of Hull. East Yorkshire .England 1960-80's There where 490 registered fishing vessels
sailing out of Hull in the 1960's I think now there's only 9. |
I started building early march 1999. The hull was made from f/class made in to halves and joined together. Length 53"x 8"beam for more info on hull you can e-mail stanshobbies@stanshobbies.karoo.co.uk
Doesn't come with the CAT! I started fitting the shaft and coupling. Motor bed and used a M.F.A Torpedo motor with 6 to1 gearbox. 55m brass Prop. placed deck beams and deck. Cut out hatches and made forecastle. Ready to fit Masks and more detail. Still some detail to finish. The model has 12volt deck lights, nav lights, steaming lights,12volt fog horn,12volt steam generator, working radar, Theirs 18lbs of lead ballast to keep her stable. I'm very pleased for my first attempt. Sailing at East Park. Hull. Sailiing in The Victoria Dock in Hull.
The real ship would have sailed in here !Mmmm.
